About the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation
Statement of Strategy
Our Mission: To support the creation of good jobs by promoting the development of a competitive business environment in which enterprises will operate to high standards and grow in sustainable markets.
Structure of the Department
The Department is organised into five Divisions which broadly reflect distinct functional units but there is also a substantial degree of co-operation and interaction between Divisions.
The five divisions and their functions are outlined below.

Following the commencement of the Industrial Development (Forfás Dissolution) Act 2014 on 1 August 2014, Forfas’ policy functions have been integrated with the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. All Forfás and advisory council publications published before this date are still available in the publications section of the Forfás website

Shannon Development is currently in transition to become part of Shannon Group plc. To emphasise a more commercially focused property remit, Shannon Development will soon be renamed Shannon Commercial Enterprises Ltd, trading as Shannon Properties
