The Health and Safety Policy Section does not administer any statutory provisions, schemes or programmes nor does it process any applications or grants etc. which may affect members of the public.

The principal decision-making role of the Section relates to matters concerning the operation of the Health and Safety Authority and is derived from the Section's policy and liaison role and related functions.

NOTE: As of the 21 January 2001 the HSA is within the remit of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997.
