Minister Coveney leads trade visit to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and UAE

Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney TD, commences a two-day trade visit to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE today. 

The purpose of the visit is to develop Enterprise Ireland client relationships with customers and partners in the region and to reinforce Ireland as a reliable source of expertise, innovation and knowledge in the transport, aviation and technology sectors. 

The visit will also promote Ireland as a rich source of innovative and cutting-edge technology-based companies, from start-ups to established companies.

Leading the trade visit, Ireland’s Minister of Enterprise Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney TD said:

“I am delighted to lead this trade visit and there is no doubt that significant opportunities exist in the region. This visit is an important opportunity to identify those opportunities and also explore areas for collaboration which will enable Irish companies to develop partnerships in the region and to grow their operations.”

The Minister will meet with Saudi Arabian and Kuwaiti ministers, as well as heads of organisations and business leaders and will highlight Irelands comprehensive offering in key sectors such as Higher Education, IT, Software and Services, Financial Services, Aviation and Business and Consumer Services.

Speaking about the visit, Stephen Twomey, Director Enterprise Ireland Middle East and North Africa said:

“Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have large economic ambitions over the coming years. During this trade visit, Enterprise Ireland, along with our client companies, aim to further showcase the very best of what Irish companies have to offer and to engage with business leaders across this region. The Gulf region offers huge opportunities for exporting Irish SMEs, with over €200 million in exports to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia combined in 2022.”
