SINGLE REGULATORY AUTHORITY

The Government, at its meeting today (Tuesday, 20th October, 1998) decided to establish a new Single Regulatory Authority for financial services.

An Implementation Group is to be established immediately to furnish proposals on the role and functions of the new Authority.

The Group will report to the Tánaiste and Minister for Finance by the end of February, 1999.
