Kitt Welcomes Drinks Report

Mr. Tom Kitt T.D., Minister for Consumer Affairs today (Wednesday, 23rd September 1998) welcomed the Report of the Competition Authority.

Commenting as Minister for Consumer Affairs he said that the Report was very welcome from the consumers point of view. He will be examining it urgently.

"I am very anxious to see more competition in the retail drinks market especially in certain developing areas of Dublin," Minister Kitt said.

The Minister also welcomed the findings which confirmed his belief that the price of drink in Dublin was far too high in comparison with the rest of the country.
