Treacy Welcomes Environmental Partnership Fund Allocations
Mr. Noel Treacy T.D., Minister for Science, Technology and Commerce has this week warmly welcomed the grant allocations by his Government colleague, Mr. Dan Wallace T.D., under the Environmental Partnership Fund, 1998. The Fund is for projects which promote public awareness of environmental issues and encourage partnership between local authorities and community, voluntary, educational and commercial groups.
Grants allocated under the scheme include one of £2,500 to Irish Countryside Care in Portumna. This Project is in Partnership with Galway Co.Council.
Minister Treacy said "I warmly welcome these allocations as I believe that the promotion of public awareness of environmental issues and the development of partnerships between local authorities and community groups is the one of the best ways in ensuring a cleaner, safer environment for our local community."
