Tánaiste Officially Opens Extension to Killala Precision Components Ltd., in Killala, Co. Mayo

Mary Harney, Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment today (Thursday, 17th September, 1998) officially opened the extension to Killala Precision Components Ltd, at Killala, Co. Mayo.

Speaking at the opening the Tánaiste said "Killala Precision Components continued growth and achievement since its establishment in 1981, has contributed greatly to the local economy in providing 56 highly skilled jobs. It is an example of Ireland's growing indigenous business sector. The company's reputation is reflected in the calibre of its customer portfolio. These include major multinationals such as Apple Computers, A T Cross, Calor Kosangas, Hewlett Packard, Thermo King, Puritan Bennet and others."

Killala Precision Components Ltd is a leading engineering sub-contract company. The company specialises in the manufacture of high quality precision turned components in various metals such as mild steel, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium, brass and bronze on a sub-supply basis, mainly to Irish based multi-nationals.

Paying tribute to Mr. Sean Hannick, owner of Killala Precision Components Ltd, and a Member of the North Mayo Initiative the Tánaiste said "Mr. Hannick through his dedication and commitment had contributed greatly not only to the development of Killala but to Co. Mayo as a whole. He had brought a strong business influence to the work of the initiative resulting in very many positive and worthwhile benefits to the region."

Concluding the Tánaiste thanked Mr. Hannick and his staff and wished them continued success in the future.
