Treacy Welcomes Capital Allocation for Mental Handicap Services

Mr. Noel Treacy T.D., Minister for Science, Technology and Commerce this week warmly welcomed the allocation by his Government colleague, Mr. Brian Cowen T.D., of £0.550m to the mental handicap services in the Western Health Board region for new capital developments in 1998.

Decisions regarding the individual capital projects to benefit from this funding in each region are agreed by the relevant Health Board and the Regional Mental Handicap Co-ordinating Committee in line with the priority needs which have been identified for the region.

Minister Treacy said "I warmly welcome this very important funding as I feel it will benefit many in our Community."
