Mr. Noel Treacy, T.D., Minister for Science, Technology and Commerce today (Monday 15th February 1999) announced details of 11 new jobs in Galway Homeopathic Ltd located in Tuam Co. Galway. The company is currently expanding its existing operation in a £250,000 expansion plan, over the next three years, which is supported by Enterprise Ireland.

Making the announcement Minister Treacy said "This is great news for Tuam and Co. Galway and will provide quality employment for a number of people. The company has identified a niche in a rapidly growing market for natural products. Today's investment enables the company move to a larger, more suitable premises and install state of the art equipment that will enable the company meet current market demands."

Established in 1994, by Kevin and Bridget Mc Hugh, the company specialises in the formulation of Homeopathic Animal Health Products, Organic Fertilizers and Disease Control Products. The company which carries a range of 49 products is the only licensed manufacturer of homeopathic animal medical products in Ireland. Galway Homeopathic produce a range of products, that are unique to the market and are certified for use by the Department of Agriculture. The company, which currently employs 4 people, hopes to increase employment to 15.

Irish owned business in the West continues to make a very significant contribution to the overall growth of our National Economy."
