The Minister for Labour, Trade and Consumer Affairs, Mr. Tom Kitt, T.D., today (14th May, 1999) strongly supported the action taken by the Director of Consumer Affairs in ordering the removal from the market, and banning the further sale, of certain fuse units which have failed to meet the required safety standards laid down in law. He has called on all electrical importers, distributors and retailers to work with the Director's Office to ensure that any risk to the public is removed.
