IDA Board Appointment

Mary Harney TD, Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment today (Tuesday 21st December, 1999) appointed Mr. John Dunne, Director General of the Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC), to the Board of IDA Ireland.

In welcoming the appointment, the Tánaiste said "Mr. Dunne's wide experience in representing business interests will benefit IDA Ireland at a time of significant change for the Agency".

Mr. Dunne replaces Dr. Eleanor O'Higgins, a senior lecturer in Business Administration at University College, Dublin, on her retirement from the IDA Board. The Tánaiste expressed her appreciation of the dedication and commitment Dr. O'Higgins brought to her role as a Board member and thanked her for her contribution to the achievements of IDA Ireland over the past five years.

The Tánaiste also announced the re-appointment of Mr. Ronald Long, Assistant Secretary, Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, to the IDA Board.
