Minister Kitt Leads Sales Pitch in Denmark Enterprise Ireland Brings Buyers and Sellers Together At Subcontract Ireland 2000 in Copenhagen - Kitt Two Irish Software Companies Establish Presence in Denmark

Mr. Tom Kitt T.D., Minister for International Trade, today (Wednesday 11th October, 2000) officially opened Subcontract Ireland 2000 an exhibition organised by Enterprise Ireland in Copenhagen to showcase the sub-contract capabilities of 17 Irish companies. The companies manufacture electronic and engineering products and are specifically targeting Danish OEMs. Eighty Danish companies will meet with the Irish participants at the event and more than 300 business meetings have been arranged.

Speaking at the exhibition, Minister Kitt said, "the similarities between Denmark and Ireland make us ideal partners and there is enormous potential for business and technology partnerships particularly in electronics and engineering. Outsourcing plays a significant role in the business development strategies of the majority of Danish companies and Irish electronics and engineering companies have a solid track record in supplying products to major equipment manufacturers worldwide."

While in Copenhagen, Minister Kitt also announced the establishment of new offices in Denmark by two Irish software companies Managed Solutions Corporation and Softco. "The establishment of new offices in Denmark by Managed Solutions Corporation and Softco is consistent with Enterprise Ireland’s strategy of encouraging Irish companies to deepen market presence and work alongside their customers throughout Europe and Scandinavia", the Minister said.
