KENTZ and ESB Form Strategic Alliance to Win New Business in Malaysia
Mary Harney Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment announced today (Monday 14th February 2000) that the Malaysian-owned Irish-based company KENTZ Group, and ESB International, have formed a strategic alliance jointly to pursue international opportunities in the power generation and waste-to-energy sectors.
The alliance is engaged in the development of two significant project Malaysia. The first project involves the recovery and treatment of palm oil waste and its efficient conversion to energy. Palm oil is the largest single export from Malaysia and the industry creates substantial amounts of waste. The second project will involve the provision of advanced technology solutions for dealing with industrial waste by the private sector in Malaysia.
"This alliance is a venture which marries the skills and attributes of two highly successful companies - one private, KENTZ and one public ESB International," Ms harney said. "The opportunities which have been created in Malaysia by KENTZ Group enable the alliance to harness the resources of both companies for the benefit of the Malaysian economy. I am very proud that two Irish-based companies are able to work to-gether to bring cutting edge technology to Malaysia."
