Tánaiste Launches National Data Microsite

Mary Harney, Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment today (Wednesday 17th October 2001) launched the National Data Microsite, a joint initiative of RTE On Business and Enterprise Ireland.

Speaking at the launch the Tánaiste said, "The microsite provides the latest economic statistical information on key national data. It includes GDP, employment, retail sales, house prices, detailed trade figures, taxation, labour costs, car sales and other relevant economic statistics. This will be an invaluable resource for anyone with an interest in our economy.

"The site brings together the information in a user friendly, readily accessible format. It serves as a quick guide for people in business, journalists, students, potential investors and indeed politicians who require a speedy, up to the minute overview of the economy. I understand that the microsite will continue to evolve over time and I congratulate RTE and Enterprise Ireland for their initiative in creating this resource," the Tánaiste said.
