Minister Ahern Welcomes The Establishment Of A New Pharmaceuticals Facility in Ringaskiddy

Minister for Trade and Commerce Michael Ahern today (28^th January 2003) welcomed the announcement by his Government colleague An Tánaiste Mary Harney that the Italian pharmaceutical group Recordatai S.P.A. is to establish an R&D centre, a pharmaceuticals manufacturing facility and an international marketing operation in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork.

Minister Ahern said, "I am delighted that Recordati S.P.A. have chosen to establish its facilities in Ringaskiddy. The creation of 60 jobs and the investment of €28 million will come as a welcome boost for Ringaskiddy and the surrounding area."

"This announcement is very much in keeping with this Governments strategy to encourage and attract high quality investments to the regions," concluded Minister Ahern.
