Conference on Building Consumer Confidence in the European Online Marketplace
Conference on Building Consumer Confidence in the European Online Marketplace
Dublin Castle - Monday 15th March 2004
The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment proposes to mark European Consumer Day by focusing public attention on the evolving European Online Marketplace. This one day Conference is being organised within the context of the Irish Presidency with the support of the European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee.
The conference aims to highlight the factors which adversely affect consumer confidence across the European online marketplace and to ascertain and develop those theoretical and/or existing models or proposals which might help raise levels of confidence across the EU.
The conference seeks to provide a forum whereby EU stakeholders (government officials, the Consumer Consultative Group, consumer enforcement bodies, members of the European Economic and Social Committee, members of the European Parliament, European Consumer Centres' representatives, and representatives of local Irish bodies) have the opportunity to consider the current state of play in the marketplace and participate in open discussion with a view to inputting to the policy making process of the European Union in this area.
