Minister Ahern welcomes announcement of 95 new jobs for Cork
Minister for Trade and Commerce, Mr. Michael Ahern TD today (Monday 11th April 2005) warmly welcomed the announcement that Engenio Information Technologies, Inc., of Milpitas, California, US is establishing a Global Operations and Supply Chain Management Centre in Cork City, with the support of IDA Ireland.
Engenio Information Technologies, Inc. is one of the world's leading providers of information storage systems. The new Centre will be responsible for a wide range of operations, including product manufacturing and test, scheduling and order fulfilment in worldwide markets.
Minister Ahern said "The establishment of this new Centre will result in the creation of up to 95 high quality jobs over the next five years. It is a significant expansion by an established company and is a tribute to our highly skilled workforce and highlights the attractiveness of Cork as a location for high quality projects which utilise the high level of skills and capability in the Region".
Engenio develops, builds, markets, and supports high-performance modular storage controllers, disk arrays, and storage management software for today's data-intensive, multi-vendor computing environments. Its products, supplied to strategic partners such as IBM, StorageTek, and Sun Microsystems, offer customers cost effective and quick access to large volumes of stored information.
