French Judges visit the Employment Appeals Tribunal
Ms. Kate T. O'Mahony, Chairman of the Employment Appeals Tribunal, met with a group of French judges at the Employment Appeals Tribunal in the offices of Department of Enterprise,Trade and Employment. .The group were in Dublin to attend a law conference.
Ms. O'Mahony said that it was important to foster and build upon the good working relationship that already exists between practitioners in Ireland and in France. It is also interesting to listen to and to learn from the legal challenges facing the judicial system in France from those most closely involved in it.
Ms. O'Mahony continued, "This meeting and discussion on the Irish employment rights system is a fundamental part of the Tribunal's programme of forging even closer links with judges working in the French legal system. In particular the Employment Appeals Tribunal, as a participant in the European Association of Labour Court Judges, is keenly aware of the many challenges facing Ireland and France at a time of significant change in the European Union".
The Chairman concluded by wishing the group well with the remainder of their visit to Dublin
