Minister Killeen welcomes new jobs for Shannon

Minister Tony Killeen today (Tuesday 13th September 2005) warmly welcomed the announcement by Intel Communications Europe (ICE) that it is to create 80 new jobs at its facility in the Shannon Free Zone.

Minister Killeen said “This announcement is very good news and is a strong vote of confidence in the Shannon regions continued ability to attract major industries to invest and grow their business.”

“ICE was established in 1999 and is now a significant employer in this region employing over 120 people most of whom are software or hardware engineers. I believe that over the last five years the high calibre of these workers and its management have contributed to the Shannon Free Zone being chosen as the location of this centre over a number of other location in Ireland and Europe”, Minister Killeen added.
