Minister Michael Ahern expresses disappointment at Seafield job losses

The Minister for Trade and Commerce, Michael Ahern, has expressed his disappointment at the job losses announced today (Mon 24^th October 2005) by Seafield Technical Textiles Limited, a manufacturer of technical fabrics and specialised apparel, based in Youghal Co. Cork.

“This news will come as a severe blow to the workforce and their families”, the Minister said. “My sense of disappointment is heightened by the fact that I have many friends who are members of the staff and have been with the company for many years”.

“I have asked that every support will be made available to the staff of the company by the state agencies so that those affected can find alternative employment as soon as possible” he continued.
