Minister Martin appoints New Chairman of FÁS Board

The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin TD today announced that the Chairman of the new FÁS Board for the period 2006-2010 will be Mr Peter McLoone, General Secretary of Impact and currently President of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.

The Minister thanked Mr Brian Geoghegan the out-going chairman of the FÁS Board for his excellent performance in the role over the last five years. During that period Ireland has enjoyed great success in terms of economic and employment growth and FÁS has played an important role in this.

The Minister said that the other members of the new FÁS Board will be announced in the New Year.
