Minister Micheál Martin appoints Executive Chair of National Consumer Agency

The Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment has announced today (Friday March 31^st 2006) that he has appointed Ann Fitzgerald as full-time Executive Chairperson of the Interim Board of the National Consumer Agency.

Commenting Minister Martin said, “I established the National Consumer Agency, to act as a forceful advocate on behalf of the consumer and since its establishment the Agency has been very active in advocating the consumer’s cause and raising the awareness of consumer rights. I have no doubt that Ann Fitzgerald will bring her vast experience and skills to this role and be an excellent champion of consumer rights. Her appointment is a further key step in advancing consumer rights in this country”.
