Combilift Targets South Africa
Combilift Ltd, Monahan is this week taking part in an Enterprise Ireland trade mission to South Africa led by Micheál Martin, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
Minister Martin said: “The key objectives of these companies is to win business in South Africa and to actively explore the potential for developing mutually beneficial alliances with South African companies. It is also an opportunity to look more closely at the scope for developing greatly expanded commercial and trade links between Ireland and South Africa and focus in particular on what can be identified as areas of significant future potential.
“Thirty Irish companies are taking part in the mission representing a wide range of industrial and consumer product and service sectors. A number of these are already well established in the South African marketplace. More than one hundred Irish companies are currently doing business in South Africa and Irish sales in the market last year are valued at over ¤428 million. The companies will hold trade events in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town.
“South Africa, a country of close on 50 million people is a very important market. It also provides Gateway access to the 185 million Southern African market. Since democracy in 1994, South Africa has experienced a dramatic and extraordinary transformation and the present economic indicators show a very positive business environment. This has created many new business opportunities for a broad spectrum of Irish companies and puts them in an excellent position to contribute to and benefit from this exciting economic and social transformation”, Minister Martin concluded
