Minister Martin announces 100 new jobs in major expansion of ServiceSource International Headquarters in Ireland
Company is global leader in specialised business sector
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin TD today (Thursday 21st February) announced that ServiceSource, the global leader in Service Performance Management, is to expand its EMEA Headquarters in Dublin. The expansion will create more than 100 additional high quality multi-lingual professional sales positions.
ServiceSource was established in San Francisco in 1999. The company is a specialised sales organisation focused on increasing service share and revenue for high-tech and healthcare client companies in over 100 countries and 26 languages. Customers include Microsoft, Adobe, Sun Microsystems, AT&T and GE Healthcare. In 2005, with the support of IDA Ireland, ServiceSource established its EMEA Headquarters in Cherrywood, Co. Dublin to offer support to customers in Europe, Middle East and Africa. The company currently employs a workforce of 175 that will increase to 300 by 2009. All the new positions require a third level qualification in business or marketing and fluency in one or more of 26 languages.
Minister Martin, making the announcement, said “ServiceSource is a superb company which has rapidly grown since its inception in Dublin just three years ago. It is a real vote of confidence in Ireland and in Dublin that a highly innovative and vibrant company like ServiceSource chose to expand its operations here. The positions created by this investment, along with those already in place, are all high skilled and well paid and require a young, enthusiastic and skilled workforce which Ireland has to offer.”
ServiceSource was founded nine years ago to service a growing specialised market within the global technology and healthcare sectors. Its success in the US was replicated in the European, Middle East and African market in 2005 with the establishment of a headquarters in Cherrywood, Co. Dublin.
Crosbie Burns, Executive Vice President ServiceSource said “The rate at which our EMEA headquarters in Dublin has expanded is indicative of the potential in the marketplace and our strategic success in helping our clients to increase their service shares and the revenue generated from license and maintenance renewals. This specialised business is worth almost $48 billion in the EMEA alone and that market value is expected to grow further. Service, support and maintenance renewals now account for 40% of tech sector revenues and we believe that growing service share is strategic to our client’s business. We focus on retaining and growing that revenue stream on their behalf.”
