Minister Lenihan Meets Chairman of Microsoft Europe

Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Conor Lenihan TD, today met with the Chairman of Microsoft Europe, Mr Jan Muehlfeit at the EU Ministerial meeting in Prague. He assured the Minister that Microsoft was still strongly committed to a strong research presence in Ireland.

He also took the opportunity to praise the Irish Government for its Smart Economy initiative which he said should be copied by other European countries.

He said, “Harnessing smaller businesses to higher value technologies was one of the ways in which Europe would fight its way out of recession”.
