Minister Kelleher Welcomes McAfee Expansion 120 High-Skilled Jobs for Cork

Mr. Billy Kelleher TD, Minister for Trade and Commerce, today (Wednesday 23^rd September 2009) welcomed the announcement by McAfee, the world's largest dedicated security technology company, is to expand its Cork operation with the creation of 120 new jobs.

The new expansion will lead to the opening of a new inside-sales operation working across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Welcoming today’s announcement Minister Kelleher, representing Cork North Central, said, “I am delighted to welcome today’s announcement by McAfee. This investment is highly significant for Cork, and is an endorsement in demonstrating the attractiveness of our region for companies seeking a location from which to develop and grow their European business.”

“The company already has significant operations in the city, with much of its finance, procurement, localisation, order processing and channel customer care based to the east of the city. The company first established a presence in Ireland in late 2004 and has since grown its Irish workforce to around 180 employees. With the introduction of a Cork-based inside sales operation, McAfee will further increase its footprint in Ireland.” The Minister added.
