Speaking from the department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment offices in Kildare Street where the minister presented David Nestor with the companies ISO 28000 certification for security in supply chain management, Billy Kelleher lauded their achievements in becoming the first indigenous Irish company to hold this certificate.
He also paid special tribute to the owner of the company who refused to let his blindness from birth hinder his plans or dreams for his company and turned this to his advantage using the latest technology to develop his business into the biggest and the best in the country today and they are also the first company to receive a certificate in Braille.
“David Nestor and his company DNFS are an example to all business’s in this country,” minister for Trade and Commerce Billy Kelleher said.
“Because of the drive and determination of one man this company and its owner have overcome all the obstacles put in front of them to become the perfect role model for companies today.
“They have become the first indigenous Irish company to hold this certificate and they have also received it in Braille today. If more companies had the attitude and determination of David Nestor then fewer companies would fail.
“His aspiration for his business was to provide a business environment that offered a menu of services which then allowed one point of contact to fulfill all the transport needs of his customers and he has succeeded.
“He has overcome blindness since birth and never let this be an obstacle to achieving his dreams. With the aid of technology he has turned this family business, only operating since 1997 into a world leader in the transportation of high-risk goods and he continually invests in security technology which gives him the edge over his rivals and I wish them continued success.”
