Galway company Fintrax celebrates 10 years of business with Australian Customs

The Minister for Trade and Commerce Mr Billy Kelleher T.D. today (Friday) congratulated Galway company Fintrax at a special ceremony in Sydney, Australia in celebration of the company’s 10 years of business with the Australian customs for the management of their $73m VAT excise returns business.
The event took place as part of this week’s Enterprise Ireland trade mission of 44 companies to Australia.
The Fintrax Group is a financial services company that specialises in multicurrency payments (Dynamic Currency Conversion), credit card processing and the management of VAT Refunds for tourists (Tax Free Shopping).
Speaking at the event Minister Kelleher said: “This is a great example of an Irish success story in Australia. Australia is a market of significant potential for Irish companies and it is great to see innovative Irish companies building relationships with prestigious and high-calibre Australian public bodies such as Australian Customs.
‘The fruitful and positive ten year relationship that Fintrax has maintained with the Australian customs is testament to the quality of Fintrax’s products and customer service as being of world class. ”
Scott Lingard of Fintrax said:“We value the working relationship we have built with Australian Customs over the past ten years and are looking forward to many more years of working together in the future.”
The Enterprise Ireland trade mission to Australia is taking place in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra and includes Irish companies from a range of sectors such as software, financial services, telecoms, e-learning, life sciences and environmental services.
Irish enterprise exports to Australia are worth almost ¤200m per year making Australia the largest market in the Asia Pacific Region and the ninth largest export market in the world for Irish exporting companies. Over 70 Irish companies have a physical presence in the market.
