Minister O’Keeffe describes Kraft Foods meeting as ‘positive’

The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, Batt O’Keeffe TD, described today’s meeting with senior executives in Kraft Foods, which owns Cadbury Ireland, as ‘extremely positive’.
Minister O’Keeffe said Kraft Foods had committed to planned investments by Cadbury Ireland in their manufacturing facilities.
‘This investment programme will be implemented over the next two years.
‘The Government and Enterprise Ireland are anxious to explore the strategic role Cadbury Ireland can play in maximising business growth opportunities for Kraft Foods over the coming period.
‘I want to thank Kraft Foods for their ongoing commitment to Ireland and I look forward to assisting in whatever way I can in the development of their business operations here into the future,’ said Minister O’Keeffe.
Cadbury Ireland is one Ireland’s major operators in the food and drink sector employing over 1,000 workers.
The company is recognised internationally for its innovation excellence.
Enterprise Ireland has had a long relationship with the company, supporting its strategic investment programmes in building research and innovation capability, improving competitiveness and strengthening manufacturing operations.
