100 high-end jobs in Telefónica shows Ireland is open for business - Minister O’Keeffe
20 May, 2010
The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, Batt O’Keeffe TD, has said the move today [Thursday] by O2’s parent company Telefónica to create 100 jobs shows Ireland is open for business and winning major foreign direct investments.
The company will create the jobs by centralising its European human resources activities in Dublin.
Minister O’Keeffe said: ‘The announcement by the Taoiseach today is another significant vote of confidence in Ireland as a location for investments of strategic importance to our economic recovery.
‘We have demonstrated yet again to the global investment community that Ireland continues to attract high-quality foreign direct investments in these difficult times for the world economy.
‘As Ireland emerges from recession and returns to growth, these investments play a key role in rebuilding our confidence as a nation and proving to the world that Ireland is open for business.’
