Minister O’Keeffe announces 100 high-tech jobs in top recruitment firm
The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, Batt O’Keeffe TD, today [Friday] announced that a leading executive search consultancy firm is to create 100 high-tech jobs over the next five years.
Spencer Stuart is to establish a multi-million euro global technology and knowledge centre in Dublin, creating 100 highly skilled positions in software development, information technology support services, and data quality.
Announcing the jobs today, Minister O’Keeffe said: ‘Shortly after taking office, I met senior Spencer Stuart executives in their Chicago offices where we discussed their business model and investment opportunities in Ireland.
‘Almost three months on, the Government is delighted to announce 100 jobs in Spencer Stuart and the firm is a welcome addition to Ireland’s thriving internationally traded services sector.
‘Firms operating in the internationally traded services sector have located and expanded in Ireland because of our innovative workforce, low-risk environment, excellent infrastructure and favourable corporate tax rate.
‘Spencer Stuart’s decision to hub here shows Ireland has established itself as a top location for innovation-led knowledge-based global investments.’
Spencer Stuart is one of the world’s leading executive search consultancy firms.
Privately held since 1956 and employing over 1,200 workers, the firm applies extensive knowledge of industries, functions and talent to advise clients and address their leadership needs.
Spencer Stuart consultants in 51 offices across 27 countries focus on senior-level executive search, board director appointments, succession planning and in-depth senior executive management assessments.
‘The global technology and knowledge centre will be responsible for research, design, development, deployment and ongoing research and development for system and business process improvement for the organisation.
‘We are confident that Ireland will provide the highly skilled technology talent we need to successfully deliver the next generation of our proprietary systems,’ said Rick Abel, chief technology officer in Spencer Stuart.
The Investment is supported by the Government through IDA Ireland.
‘Today’s investment by Spencer Stuart in a global technology centre is the first of its kind in the executive search space.
‘As a leader in this sector, it provides the opportunity for IDA Ireland to attract further investments from other companies in the executive search sector and wider services industry.
‘IDA recently published its strategy ‘Horizon 2020’ which identifies growth in international services and services innovation as a key feature of the global economy in the future.
‘Ireland is well positioned to benefit from this growth,’ said IDA Ireland chief executive, Barry O’Leary.
