Minister Calleary announces new member of the Labour Court

Mr. Dara Calleary TD, Minister for Labour Affairs and Public Service Transformation today (Tuesday), announced the appointment of Ms Mary Cryan as an employer member of the Labour Court. Ms Cryan is currently Group HR Director of Brown Thomas. She will take up duties in the Court in September and will replace Mr John Doherty who is retiring.
Minister Calleary wished Ms Cryan well in her new appointment. The Minister said "Mary Cryan will bring a wealth of experience to the Labour Court given her extensive Human Resources and Industrial Relations experience".

She has served two terms as IBEC nominee on the Employment Equality Agency and the Dublin Institute of Technology Governing Body
She is currently an IBEC nominee on the National Employment Rights Authority (NERA) Advisory Board
Ms Cryan has over thirty years' experience as a Human Resources and Industrial Relations practitioner having served initially as Group HR Manager and subsequently as Group HR Director of Brown Thomas since 1984. Prior to that, she served as an Industrial Relations Officer/Industrial Relations Executive with IBEC from 1976 to 1984.
The Labour Court has nine members in total, including the Chairman, and is organised in three Divisions.
