Inter-Departmental Committee on Science and Technology
The Inter-Departmental Committee (IDC) on Science and Technology, is composed of senior civil servants from all relevant Departments, including the Department of Finance. Since mid-2002 the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, chairs the IDC. The Office of Science and Technology (OST) provides the Secretariat.
The IDC agendas focus on seeking to generate an exchange of information on issues of common interest, particularly items brought forward by the OST in its role as the national coordinator on science and technology policy.
North/South Co-operation
Early in 2003, to further extend North and South co-operation, the sectoral North and South Ministerial Council asked InterTradeIreland, in conjunction with the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment to examine the feasibility of new areas for co-operation. OST participates in this activity on an ongoing basis.
