The Trade Policy Unit is made up of the following sections:
Import Licensing
The Import Licensing Section is responsible for issuing licences to importers in respect of goods subject to EU import restrictions such as quantitative restrictions or surveillance measures.
What’s New in Import Licensing
Export Licensing
The Export Licensing Unit is responsible for managing controls on exports of dual-use items, military items and items destined for countries to which trade sanctions apply.
Trade Policy
The Trade Policy section is responsible for the identification, formulation and development of Ireland’s international trade policies. The Section promotes Ireland’s trade interests at European Union (EU) trade policy negotiations, and actively participates at the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
