Workday to Expand Dublin Operations

Leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Provider to Create 100 New Positions in the Next Three Years

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, today [Thursday] announced that Workday, the leader in SaaS-based enterprise solutions for global human resources (HR), payroll, and financial management, plans to expand its EMEA presence by creating 100 new positions in Dublin over the next three years. IDA Ireland worked closely with the company to attract this investment to Ireland.

Making today’s announcement Minister Bruton “A key aspect of my plan to get jobs and growth into the economy again will be targeting sectors where Ireland has advantages and the potential to be a world leader. Cloud computing is one such sector. Over the past year we have seen several very significant announcements in this sector and the government is working hard to ensure that the right policies are in place to ensure that we can take full advantage of that potential.

“Today’s very welcome announcement, that a world-leading company in this area is creating 100 jobs in Dublin, shows that we are on the right track. I am determined that, with the right policies, we can replicate this announcement across the country over the coming years”.

Commenting on the announcement, Barry O’Leary, IDA Ireland’s CEO said: “Ireland’s growing reputation as a leading location for Cloud Computing is enhanced by today’s announcement. Workday is a highly successful company that has achieved phenomenal growth since its establishment in 2005. IDA Ireland looks forward to working with Workday to robustly drive its European growth from Ireland. I wish the company every success as it expands its EMEA offices here.”

Workday, headquartered in the US, currently employs more than 950 people worldwide. Interested candidates can visit www.workday.com for more information.
