Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation
Mary Mitchell O'Connor TD was appointed Minister of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation on 6 May 2016.
Mary was elected to Dáil Éireann in the 2011 General Election. She had previously served on Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council after being elected in June 2004 and re-elected in June 2009. Mary is a qualified teacher and before her election was Principal of the Harold School Glasthule, a busy mixed school with 500 pupils. Mary is originally from Milltown, County Galway and is extremely supportive of local business and enterprise, having herself run her own business.
As Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary is a huge advocate for rural development and job growth and a priority for her is ensuring that the Government creates the right environment for job creation right across the country.
